China Telecom Chairman Ke Ruiwen stated at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference that
the computing power managed by the 'Xirang' intelligent computing platform has exceeded 100 EFLOPS. China Telecom will moderately advance the construction of computing power infrastructure. Currently, it has built over 900 data centers, with a total power capacity of nearly 8 GW, making it the largest AIDC service provider in the country. The company will also increase its domestic computing power layout, build the 'New Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal' backbone optical cable network, and promote the evolution of transmission links to 800G.

IT之家获悉，中国电信将适度超前建设算力基础设施。 目前已建数据中心超 900 个，总电力容量近 8GW，是全国最大的 AIDC（人工智能数据中心）服务商 。中国电信将加大国产算力规划与布局，围绕重点城市强化边缘算力池部署，提升单节点算力规模与服务能力；将加快打造弹性敏捷的算力互联网络。
此外，中国电信将建设“新八纵八横”骨干光缆网， 加快推进传输链路向 800G 演进 ；深化千兆光网普及与 5G-A 部署。探索超大容量、OCS 全光组网算内网络建设，支持超大规模集群，提升训推算效；将持续加大海缆资源投入，为人工智能的国际合作提供“海陆互备、内外协同、安全可靠”的网络基础。
