Samsung Electronics signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Asan City, South
Korea, planning to invest an additional 46 trillion won (approximately 210.588 billion yuan) to expand the HBM memory production facility within the Wenyang semiconductor cluster. The new factory will build clean rooms about the size of four football fields, with construction expected to start in the second half of 2026 and be completed by May 2029.
